Is there a minimum number of points required to redeem?

Cancellation and refund policies depend on the selected reward. Digital vouchers and Pay with Points redemptions are generally non refundable. Travel redemptions follow third party provider rules.

Can redeemed rewards be cancelled or refunded?

Yes. Go Points can be transferred between Members for a fee mentioned on the Rewards platform.

Can I transfer my Go Points to another person?

Upon cancellation of your Eligible Card, all accumulated Go Points will be forfeited.

What happens to my points if my card is cancelled?

No. Access is seamlessly integrated through the AlRayan Go app and AlRayan Go Web using your existing credentials.

Do I need a separate login for the Rewards platform?

What should I do if my points balance appears incorrect?

Yes. Depending on the service, you may receive SMS or email, or both together.

Do I need to register or pay any fees to join?

All AlRayan Credit Cards and Eqtisadi Cards, with the exception of AlRayan QA co-branded credit cards.

What is considered an Eligible Card?

You earn Go Points when you use your Eligible Card for Eligible Transactions as defined in the program Terms & Conditions.

How do I earn Go Points?

Yes. All Go Points earned by supplementary cardholders are credited to the primary Member’s Go Points Account.

Do supplementary cardholders earn Go Points?

Almost all in-store purchases and e-commerce transactions earn Go Points. However, certain transactions, such as refunds, cash withdrawals, or other non qualifying transactions do not earn points.

Will all my purchases earn Go Points?

Any Go Points earned on that transaction will be cancelled. If cancellation is not possible, then the Member’s Go Points Account shall be in the negative balance equal to the amount of the reversed Go Points.

What happens if a transaction is reversed or refunded?

Go Points earned are valid for 24 months from the date they are awarded.

Do Go Points expire?

12 January 2023: Doha, Qatar – AlRayan Bank QPSC (the “Group”) is aware of news circulating in the market about a penalty imposed on AlRayan Bank UK.AlRayan Bank UK, a subsidiary of AlRayan Bank QPSC, is an independent legal entity that operates under the laws and regulations of the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom’s financial services regulator, Financial Conduct Authority or FCA, has completed its review of historic weaknesses in the UK subsidiary bank’s financial crime systems and controls that date back to a period between 2015 and 2017. All identified weaknesses have been fully resolved with the support and assistance of external, independent subject matter experts. The FCA found no evidence of any money laundering or other criminal activity by AlRayan Bank UK nor its customers and none of AlRayan Bank UK’s existing management were in a senior management function at the time. We would like to assure our shareholders, customers, and the public, that the penalty has no material impact on the Group’s overall operations or financial position. AlRayan Bank: Clarification Statement on Penalty Imposed on AlRayan Bank UK.

1.	What were the reasons and factors that led to the merger? 
The merger was brought about by the desire to create one of the largest Shari’a compliant banks in the region, with over QAR 160 billion in total assets. It has created a leading Islamic bank with a robust capital position and strong liquidity to accelerate Qatar’s journey towards its 2030 National Vision, by leveraging its increased scale, compelling product offering, excellent talent base and the industry’s potential to create new sustainable growth opportunities and contribute to shared prosperity.  The merger consolidated the best of both banks to create an entity with an enhanced product and service proposition to better compete in a growing and increasingly sophisticated market segment. Our increased balance sheet and capital means we can better support customers and deliver greater shareholder value.

 4.	Can you tell us more about the bank’s commitment to ESG goals? 
 In short, we are fully committed to the objectives of ESG as outlined in our Sustainable Finance Framework launched earlier this year, and which the S&P Global Ratings has confirmed as being aligned with the Social Bond Principles, Social Loan Principles, Green Bond Principles, Green Loan Principles, and Sustainability Bond Guidelines. This framework supports the four pillars included in Qatar’s National Vision 2030. It sees AlRayan Bank committed to help Qatar establish advanced educational and health systems as well as a capable and motivated workforce, to participate in enhancing social care and protection, in enabling the private sector to play an essential role in achieving sustainable development by supporting small and medium businesses, and to financing SME and other dedicated projects, such as green buildings and renewable energy. In April this year, we furthered sustainable investment options in Qatar with the launch of the country’s first Shari’a compliant Green Deposit, a unique alternative investment solution that allows Riyal deposits and other major currencies to be deployed for funding green initiatives. This enables clients seeking to incorporate environmental and sustainability goals in their business ambitions to participate in these deposits that finance ESG projects. Additionally, in pursuit of ESG excellence, we built key sustainability features into AlRayan Towers such as energy efficient lighting, solar panels, sustainable water management systems and we segregate waste for recycling. We also recently launched an internal campaign to transform our offices into ‘Go Green’ zones, virtually making them paper-free, digitally enhanced operations with minimal printing requirements.
 5.	What is your vision for the future and how will you increase the bank's resources, size, capacity, efficiency, and ability to compete internally and externally?
 I am excited for the future of the Bank following its merger and our medium-term plans are ambitious. The transformation journey will focus on enhancing our customer experience through service excellence, speed and technology. We are determined to increase the pace at which we digitize AlRayan Bank through greater investments in technology. By adopting a ‘High Tech-High Touch’ approach we will utilize technology to enable speed and growth and become the market leader in this arena; in parallel we will enrich client services, through appropriate segmentation, via our dedicated teams of Private, Premium and Corporate relationship managers. 
These measures will strengthen the links between our local and international footprint in the UAE, France and the UK to better serve our client’s overseas banking requirements.

 6.	What is the market potential for AlRayan Bank in Qatar, which many see as a mature market?
The merger has in fact addressed the issue of a mature market and we see great potential for AlRayan Bank.
 This merger was a turning point in Qatar’s banking sector, which will enable growth for corporates facilitating landmark deals, fostering SME development, and lending and supporting prosperity for our private clients to manage and grow their wealth, and for our retail customers to reach their potential. Additionally, the bank’s primary exposure is to the public sector, which remains secure with Qatar’s ongoing infrastructure development. The merger saw our Foreign Ownership Limit (FOL) increase to 100%, which will help boost the bank’s weight in major indices such as MSCI EM and FTSE EM and contribute to increased foreign institutional ownership in the company. AlRayan Bank is now one of the largest Shari’a compliant banks in the region, and, with a robust capital position and strong liquidity, the bank is in a prime position to accelerate Qatar’s journey towards Vision 2030.

            20 December 2022, Doha – Qatar: AlRayan Bank, one of the Middle East’s largest Sharia-compliant banks, celebrated Qatar National Day at its headquarters in Lusail by hosting several internal activities and a special lunch attended by members of the Executive Management.
            
            In the weeks leading up to National Day, staff were encouraged to test their knowledge on the history and culture of the country and its culture through a variety of quizzes, as well as urged to showcase their creativity by decorating several stands reflecting this year’s slogan ‘Our Unity Source of Strength’, or that of the bank, namely ‘One Team, One Dream. One Family.”
            
            The activities were concluded with a celebratory luncheon on the terrace of the bank’s headquarters in Lusail. 
            
            Speaking at the event, Fahad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Group CEO, said: “This year's celebrations are particularly special as we not only celebrate National Day, but also the successful and historic hosting of the first FIFA World Cup™ in an Arab country."

AlRayan Bank Marks National Day With Celebratory Luncheon

Doha, 16 November 2022: AlRayan Bank Q.P.S.C. (“MAR” and/or “Bank”) held the Ordinary General Meeting (“OGM”) and the Extraordinary General Meeting (“EGM”) of Shareholders on Wednesday 16 November 2022. 

            At the OGM, the shareholders discussed and adopted the amendments to the approved Board Nomination and Election policy as presented to the meeting. The policy was amended to comply with the applicable corporate governance laws and regulations, particularly Qatar Central Bank’s Circular No. (25) of 2022 on governance of banks,  based on which the next Board elections will take place.
            
            At the EGM, the shareholders approved the proposed amendments to the Articles of Association of the Bank (“AoA”) to comply with the requirements of Qatar Central Bank’s Circular No. (25) of 2022 on governance of banks. The shareholders authorized the Chairman of the Board, Vice Chairman, and/or other Board delegate to complete the necessary formalities in respect of the amended AoA subject to necessary regulatory approvals. 
            
            The AGM and EGM were held electronically through Zoom platform, and were attended by MAR shareholders, regulators, Board members, management and staff.
